A number of computer programs are used at the Department of Fire Safety Engineering and Systems safety, both in education and research. Some of them are available for download below.
Simulex
Simulex is a computer program for egress simulation. The software can be used to simulate evacuation of a large number of occupants in complex buildings. Simulex is very user friendly and the interface is easy to understand. It is available in two versions, of which version 1.2 is free (see link below). In order to use the program you have to enter a registration key. Please mail Håkan Frantzich to retrieve this key. ERM
Evacuate and Rescue Model (ERM) is a model for egress simulation. The model is often used for egress simulation of medical care units where patients cannot be expected to evacuate themselves.
