The Department of Fire Safety Engineering and Systems Safety is responsible for education and research in the following two areas:
Fire safety engineering
Societal systems safety
Our scope of practice is interdisciplinary. The department is responsible for essential parts of the Fire Protection Engineering programme on bachelor level, the Risk Management and Systems Safety programme, the Fire Safety Engineering programme on masters level, and the Master of Disaster Management programme. In addition, the department is responsible for the education of PhD students in both the field of fire safety engineering and the field of systems safety. Co-operation with other universities and colleges are carried out regarding both education and research. The department is for example host for two of Lund University's research networks, namely LUCRAM and TRRC.
