People from the division of Fire Safety Engineering have recently participated in the 2nd International Conference on Fire Safety of Facades and in the 11th Conference on Performance Based Codes and Fire Safety Design Methods.
The 2nd International Conference on Fire Safety of Facades organised by CSTB and SP was held in Lund, May 10-12. The conference gathered 110 people and it was filled with presentations on test metods, modelling, case studies, fire safety engineering and regulations. Patrick van Hees presented two papers: A case study of fire in structural elements and Development of full scale façade tests in ISO TC 92 and PhD student Karlis Livkiss presented a poster titled: Experimental study on the fire behaviour of rainscreen facade mock-ups. The entire conference program can be found here and the presented papers are available as open access from MATEC Web of Conferences.
The 11th Conference on Performance Based Codes and Fire Safety Design Methods organised by the Society of Fire Protection Engineers was held in Warsaw, Poland, May 23-25. The conference included two parallell tracks where presentations on human behaviour, case studies, regulations, fire models, applications and structural fire safety were included. Daniel Nilsson gave a keynote presentation on Making Buildings Smarter: Sensor Based Monitoring of People Location and Movement during Evacuation and Nils Johansson presented a paper titled: The Pre-Flashover Compartment Fire and Fire Safety Engineering – A Review of Hand-‐Calculation Methods. The conference program is available here and the presented papers can be accessed here.
